The owners' love of the Polynesian Islands inspired the architect and interior design team to create for them a feeling of being on vacation - at home. On a private island accessible only by ferry, the seven thousand square foot condominium required a complete renovation and redesign of the floor plan to accommodate a unique environment for living and entertaining. The design is an eclectic mix of tropical, modern and classical elements to complement the owners' tastes. Finishes include an interior roof of cypress over the main living space, tumbled cobblestone flooring, and wood detailing throughout, creating a warm pallet as a base of reference. Clean modern detailing is contrasted with whimsical lighting, and more traditional elements such as the fireplace and kitchen cabinetry, achieving a sophisticated, yet comfortable and relaxed environment for island living.
